American design infused with Italian heritage, L’Americano is a stylish and delicious new Espresso Bar in the Sydney food scene.
The first thing that comes to mind as you step inside Coco Republic’s new L’Americano Espresso Bar is stylish. Set in Alexandria, Sydney, L’Americano transports you to the Italian Riviera with a character-filled interior of nautical references such as petite high-powered leisure boats designed by Chris-Craft. The hardy leather furniture, stunning lighting and marble counter-tops infuses an American feel.
The café draws inspiration from the 1955 novel The Talented Mr Ripley and the character of errant Dickie Greenleaf, who spends his time living as an American playboy on the Italian Riviera. L’Americano is an example of one the 1950’s Italian espresso bars Dickie would have visited. It goes without saying that they make a wonderful espresso alongside the amazing food. It really does help that they use exceptional equipment. You can find an espresso machine rental at a very competitive price nowadays, and you can buy them outright in many different varieties too if that’s what you’re after – it’s always worth looking at reviews for things like an automatic espresso machine before you commit to buying one.
L’Americano offers fine restaurant dining in an Espresso Bar setting, offering a beverage menu that includes Vittoria Coffee’s premium blend, Santa Vittoria, Campari and Prosecco. Executive Chef, Alex Kearns of the acclaimed Glebe Point Diner, has designed the relaxed Italian-style breakfast and lunch menu. The menu features a Crostini Bar and Salad Bar offering fresh ingredients like figs, ricotta, pancetta and kingfish, while also offering organic eggs for breakfast, a range of continental pastries for mid-morning and paninis for lunch. You can enjoy the menu either in-house or to go.
L’Americano will have you coming back time and time again.
